The most boring blog
Between the 3 of us (me, Mike and Neil) we must have spent at least 50 hours rebuilding my desktop. Even at a conservative $20 er hour, we could have bought 2 new desktop computers for the time we spent! We worked into the wee hours of the morning (esp. I did, since it is after all my computer) and woke up bleary eyed 3 days in a row. I wonder what justifies this kind of time and effort. I think its the challenge of working out the details and finding ways to work around the dozens of obstacles in the way. Sort of like a "real" computer game of Dungeons and Dragons or Windows and Gates (Bill, that is)...

Funny (Windows and Gates, that is).
Do you think anybody ever really reads these? At least it is a good way to keep a journal for yourself. I wonder if in centuries to come, archivists will be able to retrieve these and learn what life was like back in the old days. (They will laugh at your $20 an hour! Today, they will say, it would be $20,000 an hour!)
It always seems like a little job to upgrade to a larger disk. The reality is what we've experienced here. Despite the time and frustration involved I always learn something from the experience that I can apply to the next disk upgrade so I suppose it's worth the trouble.

Well, time spent doing something you like in my opnion is time earned. life is always never cut and dry. The more spices we pour into the so called meaningful life, the more juice you will get out of it.Now its upto you whether you want to drink that juice of knowledge.
I think the three of you together must have learned a lot about each other, leave alone the fact that you r now 50 hours X three richer in fixing computers(i guess!!!!!!!!!!).
